The Empire Strikes Back studio scale ATST!

Here is a project i had the priviledge to partake in earlier this year, the ATST walker from TESB!
This model, is a fully operational, alloy stop motion armature, designed by my good friend, Allan Hansen!
Several were made, though only two are being worked on right now, including my own.

We decided to tackle this, due to quite a passion of this seldom seen prop, and the very lacklustre studio scale garage kit offering from Nice N models, this kit, was far from accurate, in many areas, so we had to address that.

Jason Eaton came to our aid, with some stellar reference of the prop from Japan, these pictures, allowed us to really get down to business, in IDing the build.

Only a tiny handful of donor kits remain unknown, and part that had to be scratchbuilt, are very close to there OE cousins!

Around 40 kits or so are used in the creation of this prop, originally built by Joe Johnston, unfortunately, she was only seen for a few seconds in The Empire Strikes Back, rumor has it, more scenes were shot of the model, but the slip of a background painting, rendered the shots useless, and with deadlines very tight on the movie, they were sadly dropped!
